I was commissioned to produce a series of works, with The Sun by Sven Holmström and Ole Berg as a starting point for the exhibition Splendid Silent Sun, a satellite exhibition arranged by Market Art Fair in collaboration with Nrep in Vällingby 2023.

In the exhibition I presented installations in three parts. A spatial wall projection of a rotating sphere, a video installation with a screen on the floor and a series of images on glass. In this continuation of the Color Space series - I focus on the fourth of the digital color channels: the alpha channel. It is the layer in a digital image in addition to red, green, blue (RGB) that determines the degree of transparency in a pixel. This transparency becomes physical when the pixels are transferred to glass and light can flow through the image. Light transfer the image to surfaces behind as projections. I search for vision and light as a material, in an eternal loop where time becomes visible.

The technology and the titles refer to software menus and names for image processing and work as an analogy for the elusive and peripheral. The motifs on these glasses are analogue C-prints, produced with my developing method In-Contact Copying, where I place light-sensitive paper in physical contact with a computer screen in a darkroom. These photographic papers are exposed with animated film of rotating spheres, so that motion blur is painted into the chemical surface. The color copies are then scanned and UV-printed on hardened, low-iron glass. Here mounted at an angle on Valchromat® shelves made by designer Wilson Kalanzi.
